In addition to the Euro pallet and the industrial pallet, the 800x600 plastic pallet is also very important. Colloquially, this is also referred to as a half pallet or a display pallet. The term "half" naturally refers to the fact that the length is reduced by half in direct comparison with an industrial pallet. However, anyone using an IBC tank with a volume of 300 litres will benefit from precise positioning, as the base area corresponds exactly to the half pallet. Display pallets are primarily used in the retail trade or in other places where goods are presented. They are easy to handle and can be used directly at the point of sale. For this reason, plastic is an excellent material as it is both lightweight and hygienic. Another advantage is the ease of handling in combination with the e-crate system.
The term plastic pallet 800x600 or half pallet is sometimes also referred to as a Düsseldorf pallet or Euro 6 pallet. However, this requires compliance with the specifications of the European Pallet Association (EPAL), which primarily defines the dimensions. It is also characterised by the fact that a half pallet or display pallet can be driven under from all four sides and can therefore be moved from A to B with both a pallet truck and a forklift truck. The half pallet is used in particular when boxes or cartons need to be transported. It goes without saying that these are perfectly matched. In everyday life, we mainly encounter 800x600 plastic pallets in supermarkets.
The low weight is one of the most important arguments in favour of the half pallet. If the footprint is large enough, a pallet weighing nine kilograms is sufficient, meaning that even less sturdy people can load it by hand without any problems. What is remarkable in this context is the load capacity, which is up to two tonnes, provided it is a static weight. Dynamically, however, it still weighs half a tonne. The WERIT 800x600 plastic pallet is supplied with two unwelded runners and a seven millimetre edge to prevent slipping. The colour of this product from WERIT is grey throughout and the dimensional stability is given within a temperature range of -40 °C to +70 °C. 1,224 half pallets can be loaded into an articulated lorry as a trailer or even 1,366 units in the jumbo category, while 384 or 880 pallets fit into a container, depending on the height.
