A surface-mounted cistern is the classic and proven solution for wall mounting - visible, easily accessible and technically reliable. It is the ideal choice for renovations or old buildings in particular, if a pre-wall element cannot or should not be installed.
When is a surface-mounted cistern the right choice?
In contrast to the concealed cistern, which disappears behind the wall, the surface-mounted cistern is installed directly on the wall. This makes it the preferred solution in older buildings in particular, where there is often not enough cavity space for a concealed installation. However, it can also be a sensible alternative for new buildings or conversions: Installation is uncomplicated and access for maintenance and repair is easy at all times.
What should you look out for when buying?
Several factors play a role in choosing the right surface-mounted cistern: the flush volume, ease of use and water consumption. Modern models have a flush and economy button that can be used to specifically reduce water consumption - an active contribution to sustainability in everyday life. Models with particularly large, easy-to-reach push buttons are recommended for people with physical disabilities.
